Jill Cleveland Joda, PE- Engineer
At a young age, Jill’s grandfather would bring her into his office to teach her about civil engineering at his own residential design practice. He would show her plans, run through calculations, and bring her to project sites. Ever since, she has had a connection and passion for residential design. Now, she attempts to teach her children about engineering through play and watching construction sites.
Jill graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a degree in Civil Engineering. She started working for Verdant Structural Engineers in 2017 and has since worked on a variety of residential and commercial projects utilizing many types of materials. Her project experience ranges from a backyard ADU with bamboo walls, an adobe residence, a new multi-story wood-framed residential building, and a commercial remodel utilizing light-frame steel framing. She was also able to see her straw bale projects realized and witness the green building community come together during construction.
In her spare time, Jill enjoys walking her dog, camping, baking bread, and keeping up with old and new friends.
