Kelsey Holmes Foster, PE - Principal

Kelsey started her engineering career on the East Coast, working on a variety of structures, including transportation, hydropower, and a space shuttle launch pad. After moving to California in 2014, she wanted to explore her passion for more personal and detailed structural projects, and has since enjoyed working as a close collaborator in design teams to bring architectural visions to life. Kelsey has always been inspired by sustainable design, and since becoming principal in 2019, she has been honored to help lead Verdant into the future by supporting VSE’s efforts to forward deep green low-carbon construction methods.

Kelsey holds a B.A. in economics from Mount Holyoke College, a Bachelors of Engineering from Dartmouth College, and a Masters of Engineering from Tufts University. She is a licensed Civil Engineer in California.

Outside of work, Kelsey loves exploring the world with her wife and two daughters. When closer to home, she also enjoys finding time to cook, sew, and knit, as well as running and hiking around the Bay Area.
