NEPAL STRAW BALE & BAMBOO HOUSE

Verdant Structural Engineers partnered with Builders Without Borders and the Kevin Rohan Memorial Eco Foundation to help design the Paral Ko Ghar (Straw House), the first straw bale house in Nepal, working to rebuild communities affected by the devastating 2015 earthquakes. The design utilizes a wide variety of local and natural materials, including straw bale walls, bamboo floor and roof structure, and clay and lime plasters, to create safe, durable, and affordable shelter with minimal environmental impact.
