CORNERSTONE

Owners Alex Popov and Chris Hoff had a vision: a fifty-foot long bar, an outdoor drinking patio with fire pits, and a music venue for touring bands, all in the heart of downtown Berkeley with easy access for Cal students.

The former pool hall was transformed into a 500-person, 6,500 sf music venue with state-of-the-art sound and lighting. To open up the music venue, the existing roof trusses were modified. In the bar area, the existing brick wall was opened up with 11'-0" high by 18'-0" wide folding door openings connecting the interior to the outdoor patio.
