LAWRENCE HALL OF SCIENCE OUTDOOR LEARNING LAB
This project at the Lawrence Hall of Science created an educational space with shaded pavilions for outdoor classrooms and gathering areas, landscaped pathways with concrete and wood retaining walls, and view decks. Engineering the circular outdoor pavilion required a delicate balance of structural transparency and architectural elegance. We utilized timber framing with custom-engineered concealed steel connections to ensure the structure remained seismically sound while maintaining the uninterrupted, natural warmth of the exposed wood.
