SACRAMENTO BAMBOO ADU

This ADU was constructed with laminate bamboo panels from Bamcore. The panels act as the earthquake-resisting system and carry the gravity loads of the roof and sleeping loft above the bathroom, while also serving as an integrated guardrail and suspended stair assembly. The alternating tread stair uses a diagonally oriented center stringer to align with bamboo's natural grain direction, taking full advantage of its natural strength.
